Tied at 10 at the half, Oswego appeared to have momentum on their side throughout the third quarter eating up nearly six minutes of clock on the half’s opening drive, but Quankenbush fumbled the center exchange, his second lost exchange of the game and gave the ball back to the Redskins. However, Cam Quackenbush, the Oswego quarterback was intercepted near the Oswego 30 yard line and Kyle Windle returned it for a touchdown and nailed the coffin shut for a 30-19 Morris victory, their first of the season.

Trailing 23-19 and the crowd now silenced Oswego prepared for the winning touchdown. Three plays later Redskin quarterback Drew Hanson hit Adam Tondini at midfield and Tondini sprinted towards the sideline, got a good seal on the edge and took the ball 65 yards for the go ahead touchdown, his second of the game, the first being a 66 yard run in the first quarter. That 4th and 7 play fell incomplete and Morris took over at its own 20 yard line. A distance that was closer than the two previous field goals Panther kicker Otavio Fleury had hit from twice already (44, 38). Things changed quickly however when Oswego coach Dave Keely decided to go for it on 4th and 7 at the Morris 20 yard line instead of kicking a 37 yard field goal with Oswego leading 19-16.

Oswego - With 1:44 to go in the 4th quarter it appeared that the Oswego Panthers were the team that wanted to win the game more.
